Measuring Instructions

.

The following instructions will help you measure your space in the most accurate manner to ensure that your new blinds fit perfectly.

You can choose from two mounting options, based on the area where you will be installing them and your own personal preference.

Mounting Options

The INSIDE MOUNT fits the blind into the niche of a window. This option is available in the case of most indoor blinds. It is the preferred option if there are curtains in front of the blinds. In such cases, accuracy is of prime importance since the blind must fall within the perimeter of the niche to operate smoothly.

The OUTSIDE MOUNT fits the blind outside the niche and when rolled down will completely cover the niche of the window. This option is commonly used for exterior blinds, where there might not be a niche, or they need to protect the area they are covering, but can also be opted if you want your blinds to cover a niche completely. The blind will be fitted above the niche and will overlap the wall on the sides.

Measuring for an INSIDE MOUNT:

Inside Mount
Inside Mount

  • Measure the width in cm at the top, middle and bottom of the niche and take the narrowest of these as the final width.
  • Similarly for the length, measure at the left and right corners and at the centre and take the shortest of these as the final length.
  • Ensure that the specifications are as per the actual measurements.

Note:For inside mounting, we reduce .5cm from the width so that the blind can move freely when drawn up and down.

Measuring for OUTSIDE MOUNT:

Outside Mount
Outside Mount

  • Measure the width in cm at the top, middle and bottom of the niche and take the widest of these as the final width.
  • Similarly for the length, measure at the left and right corners and at the centre and take the longest of these as the final length.
  • Ensure that the specifications are as per the actual measurements.

Note:For outside mounting we add 5cm to the width so it overlaps the side walls by 2.5cm on each side, and 2.5cm to the height so it overlaps the base wall below the niche
